There were so many things to love about this intimate wedding in North Fremantle. The venue, the location, the size and the couple just to name a few!
The Venue: A Guildhall Wedding
Firstly, the wedding was held at one of Perth’s best wedding venues: Guildhall Event Space. I love this venue because not only is it an absolute delight to photograph with its heritage building aesthetics, beautifully coloured walls and interiors, classic details and best of all an excellent indoor ceremony backup plan should the weather turn. Fortunately for Emily and James, the weather was perfection on this mid April afternoon so they could hold the ceremony in the back courtyard. And to top if off, Guildhall also provide amazing meals and the staff and event coordinator are lovely and accommodating.
The location: North Fremantle
The best part about Guildhall’s location is it’s got all the best parts of Fremantle (old heritage buildings and character house lined streets) but it’s far enough out of Fremantle that it’s not too busy. There are plenty of cute spots for photos in just a short walk, including the famous Hot Bread sign that’s become a Freo icon, so there’s no need to go far (or better yet, no need to get in a car!). Emily and James even chose to rent an Airbnb house nearby so it wasn’t far to relax after the wedding celebration.
The small wedding size
Big weddings are fun, but small weddings allow you to have more quality time with your guests and ultimately reduces the cost and the stress! Their celebration was a small group of around 30 family and friends so when they all came together at the end to enjoy a long table dinner inside Guildhall, it felt like an intimate dinner as opposed to a big formal event. It definitely felt very relaxed!
The couple
Emily and James were a super chill couple who didn’t want too much fuss or to be in the spotlight. They enjoyed a first look at the North Fremantle Airbnb before they arrived at Guildhall to walk down the aisle together. We enjoyed some before and post ceremony portraits and I left them just as they all sat down to dinner and gave everyone a cheers with their wine glasses.
